Time is running out......in a GOOD way!

Time is running out......we are down to 5 days to lift off!! Either i am completely disorganized or my apartment is too small for packing a month long trip and daily living!! Things are EVERYWHERE!!! my lists are getting longer, and my space is getting shorter!

Snuggy's stuff is pretty much ready to go.....but that's only because she requires NO laundry, cosmetics, or beach stuff.....she's actually pretty easy to pack up..... me? not so much!! (don't get me wrong....i'm NOT complaining) it's a GOOD problem to have!!

Hopefully today i will get the laundry done that needs packed.....and the suitcase out, and then it all becomes reality!!! Clean out the frig....make out my bills for mailing out before i leave, and firming things up with the neighbors.

Yesterday was a good day at the pool for 3 1/2 hours on the float, getting some much needed color base before hitting the southern sun! You NEVER want to go South w/o some preparation for that sun, so i'm well on my way to that! A couple more days and i'll feel confidant about that! Thankfully the weather seems to be co-operating with me on that one, and believe me, here in Western PA that is quite a blessing!

So, there you have it for where i stand right now. i'll check back either right before we leave, or when we arrive in North Carolina on Friday! We will get to Kippy & BJ's early Friday evening, and stay all day Saturday finalizing our plans and packing up to leave Sunday morning. Our first planned stop is Daytona Beach for 2 or 3 days, and seeing things in that area such as Cape Canaveral and other points of interest!!

We are praying for a safe and wonderful time, enjoying great friendships and beautiful scenery! We ALL love the beach, camping and each others sense of humor so when you mix all that with good food, sun, sand & palm tree's.......you'll know where my Blog got it's name!! (with the help of Poodie Lee) xoxo

Over the Hump Day!

No, don't check your calendar, it's NOT Wednesday!! This was another Hump in our lives as a family.

My Sister Donna had major surgery this morning at 7 a.m. During her recent Pap test, she was told that "fortunately" some cells had trickled down into her ovaries making it possible for them to find out that she had Uterin Cancer! Now, i say "fortunate" because normally a mere Pap test would not discover this, but since the cells had trickled down, they were alerted to do MORE testing which verified the fact!

After more testing (CT, etc) she had the surgery this morning and the Dr. said that the cancer was 75% invasive, but that as far as the naked eye can tell, there is NO other area's affected. PTL The Power of prayer folks, is a very wonderful thing.
He said they did take some tissue from various spots so that they could microscopically test them for an even better evaluation. Those tests should be back on Mon or Tues of next week, but for now he said that he can say that he feels she is 98% clear & MAY be asked to have some radiation just for "insurance" that the area's around would be sealed! It was wonderful news to hear and when the Dr was so pleased and so sure, it made us feel completely confidant that my sister will be completely healed in just a matter of weeks.

I don't mind telling you that my FAITH is/was strong, but there is ALWAYS that human side of us that worries and wonders. She is not only my sister, but my absolute BEST FRIEND, and the thought of losing her almost did me in.

So, now that she will be fine after a few weeks of healing, i can now rejoice in the fact that my "DREAM OF A LIFETIME" vacation is now in full speed ahead mode. It was always in the back of my mind that if her outcome wouldn't have been good, that i would not have been able to go on this trip for obvious reasons. I never told her that, because she would have REBELLED big time and would have insisted that i go, but now that i know she'll be fine my "ANTICIPATION" is in high gear.

Thank you all for your prayers and concerns, and never, never underestimate the Power of Prayer.

Anticipation

Anticipation

Anticipation ahhh yes, "almost" the best part of any vacation. and that's where i am right now. the "always fun" countdown. Twenty-three (23) days from today, we will be leaving Butler to drive to Clinton, NC where our friends Kippy and BJ live. and by "we" i mean my friend Lynne from South Beaver, AND my ever loving faithful loyal Cocker Spaniel "Snuggles" aka. Snuggy, Nuggy, Snuggly Wuggly, Snugs *you get the jist* Actually this is the icing on the cake getting to take Snugs with us. it would be hard leaving her for so long and it would be harder on whoever would watch her too, cause she's such a Mamma's girl.

As of right now, i am getting things lined up "sorta" in one place so i can assess the situation. i have a "list" started with all the "extra's." you know how that goes?
Right now i'm working on how my RX situation will work out, since a few of them are due half way through the month, and i won't be here, AND of course my provider doesn't pay my co-pay OUT OF STATE grrrrr isn't there always a glitch in the giddy up somewhere? but, not to worry, i WILL work it out, cause where there is a WILL there is a WAY, and if EVER there was a WILL, I'VE GOT IT FOR THIS TRIP. TRUST ME, NOTHING, but "NO PULSE" will keep me from this trip. Please Please Please God *praying*

So folks, that's where we are right now, and as boring as it sounds to YOU, it is anything but boring for ME. and besides i just wanted to play on this "blog" site a little and see how it works and who's reading it and who isn't. Will catch ya all in a day or so.
